We are pleased that The Cyprus Institute recently contributed to the “Reform & Digitization of the Presidential Palace Art Collection” project, a significant step forward in making Cyprus’ national heritage more accessible through digital technology.
The Virtual Environments Lab at The Cyprus Institute developed a virtual time machine that enables an interactive visit to the Presidential Palace of the Republic of Cyprus, showcasing its rich history from 1878 to the present day. As part of HERIFORGE’s mission to bring immersive technologies to cultural heritage, this project demonstrates how extended reality technologies can support heritage preservation and public engagement initiatives.
By combining our expertise with this national digitisation effort, The Cyprus Institute continues to advance HERIFORGE’s vision: making heritage more accessible, interactive, and long lasting through technology.
