Our colleague Gabriela Manista, HERIFORGE WP2 Leader, presented the short paper “Methodological Challenges of Multilingualism in International Cultural Policy Research: Insights from the HERIFORGE Project” at the 2026 International Cultural Policy Research Conference (ICCPR), held at the University of Ottawa from 17–22 August.
This year’s conference focused on the intersections between language and cultural policy.
For Gabriela, it was a particularly rewarding opportunity to present the key findings of our Policy Landscape (D2.1) while also stepping back to reflect on the methodological challenges of conducting international research across multiple languages.
A huge thank you to the HERIFORGE WP2 team, especially Ece Velioğlu Yıldızcı (Koç University), Kristis Alexandrou (The Cyprus Institute), and Kuba Piwowar (Fundacja Centrum Cyfrowe). Together, we made this research happen across three hubs, bringing different perspectives, contexts, and expertise into one shared research effort.
We are very happy to see HERIFORGE contributing to the broader conversation on language, culture, and policy – and to reflect not only on what we research, but also on how we do it.
