During the NEM Summit 2025 conference in Berlin on October 21–22, Maciej Głowiak from PCSS presented the HERIFORGE project’s assumptions and objectives.

This year’s NEM Summit addressed topics closely related to HERIFORGE’s areas of activity, such as ethics and legislation in virtual worlds, the use of generative artificial intelligence in the media, and the development of inclusive immersive experiences. These issues provide important context for the hub cooperation strategy and the implementation of XR technologies in cultural heritage and market innovation.

Discussions on the ethical and regulatory aspects of using immersive technologies are particularly crucial for HERIFORGE because the project advocates a responsible and sustainable approach to developing XR tools that considers cultural diversity and user needs.

The NEM Summit, organized by the NEM Initiative – a European cooperation platform that brings together projects, companies, and academic institutions working in media, immersive technologies, and virtual worlds – was an excellent opportunity to exchange experiences with representatives from the European Commission, Partnership for Virtual Worlds, XR4Europe, and other industry initiatives and European projects.
